A short history - an incredible story
PTSG was founded in 2007 to fulfil an industry need for a single provider of multiple specialist services to the construction and FM sectors.
Since then, we have become the leading supplier of fall arrest equipment services, electrical testing, specialist building access, fire solutions and water treatment.
We have experienced year-on-year growth across all five divisions: Access & Safety, Electrical Services, Building Access Specialists, Fire Solutions and Water Treatment. This has been achieved through a combination of organic growth and the strategic acquisition of businesses that add greater scope and value to our services.
Headquartered in Castleford, West Yorkshire, the Group now employs over 2,400 people across 47 UK sites. This enables our experts to be mobilised to any site, whatever the location. As a result, we service more than 200,000 buildings for over 20,000 customers in a wide range of industry sectors.

Our testing, inspection and maintenance solutions comply with industry standards, ensuring safety when working at height on all types of buildings. We also design and install fall arrest equipment for clients in all industry sectors, in both the public and private sectors.
PTSG Electrical Services Ltd
PTSG Electrical Services Ltd. brings together a diverse range of skills from across the UK. We lead the UK market in the design, installation and testing of lightning and surge protection and earthing systems. We also deliver market-leading electrical compliance services.
PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd
Services include: high-level cleaning, high-level installations, high-level reparation, steeplejack services and interior cleaning. Our engineers are based throughout the UK, from the south of England to Edinburgh, enabling them to be mobilised to any job, anywhere.
PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd
Fire safety should be the foundation upon which all buildings are designed and constructed. Our services ensure that buildings and users remain safe, secure and compliant at all times through the design, installation, test and maintenance of specialist systems and equipment.
PTSG Water Treatment Ltd
We offer a comprehensive range of solutions in industrial water treatment and water hygiene, combining the specialist skills of our engineers with the very latest cutting-edge tools to deliver high performance, safety and reliability.
PTSG unites the company’s constituent businesses and five divisions under one clear identity. The group company provides a central information and strategic management function for the individual businesses.
Case study: Restoring a world-famous attraction
Blackpool Tower is visited by around 650,000 people every year. In 2018, Blackpool Council announced an open tender for a critical package of repairs; PTSG was appointed as the main contractor after scoring highly in all areas.
In Phase I, PTSG’s steeplejack engineers performed vital structural repairs to the tower. This included replacing original steelwork with like-for-like material; and replacing a concrete floor 380 feet up the tower.
The challenges were considerable. All work had to be approved by the heritage committee prior to being undertaken. Parts of the tower had to be disassembled and removed, with new material hoisted up the tower – all within close proximity of the public on the promenade below.
PTSG injected extra manpower to ensure that the deadline for the project completion was not compromised. As a result, the Group was contracted for a second phase of work to provide ongoing maintenance for up to four years.
