This week PTSG is taking part in work experience activities for Year 9 students, delivered in partnership with client Amey as part of its commitment to social value.
Sales Director Shaun Caddick will represent PTSG across two days. On Tuesday 7 July, he’ll talk to students about the importance of health and safety during a hazard spotting challenge, where students identify hazards from photographs before designing their own solution using materials.
While on Wednesday 8 July, he’ll take on a supplier role in two team-based challenges built around real jobs in facilities management and projects. Students will manage a mock £20k budget for school improvements and review contractor options, weighing up cost, safety, quality and sustainability, before presenting their decisions.
The activities are organised by Amey and give students direct insight into the building services sector and the career paths it offers. It’s the latest example of PTSG working with clients to deliver social value alongside its core services.
Shaun explained: “It’s great to be involved in something like this with Amey. Supporting the next generation into FM and building services matters to us at PTSG, it’s the same reason we invest so heavily in our apprenticeship programme. Days like this give students a real look at what a career in our industry can actually look like, and hopefully a few of them will think about it seriously. As a potential career.”
