Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is currently on site at the University of St. Andrews, providing vital access and safety services on the Eden Campus site.

The PSR building refurbishment project involves the restoration and refurbishment of buildings to create state-of-the-art office space, storage for library stock, a canteen and associated parking and landscaping. A key part of the development will be a café which will be open to the public as well as University staff. The principal contractor is Graham.

Engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd are installing a range of fall arrest equipment to protect workers who will carry out maintenance or cleaning on the building façade. Equipment includes snow guards, handrails, walkways and access ladders.

Snow guards are fitted around roof gutters to prevent loose roof tiles / slates falling and causing damage or injury. They are mainly used along walkways or when a patio is below the roof.

PTSG is the UK’s leading supplier of specialist equipment and services to the construction and FM sectors. Its engineers deliver solutions for end-users in all sectors, including a great many in the education sector. In recent weeks, PTSG has worked at: Kingston University – installing a new lightning protection system; the University of Aberdeen – carrying out remedial works to at-height systems in use across the campus; and installing a new lightning protection system at a new student accommodation development at the Royal Holloway, University of London – to name just a few.
