Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has completed a specialist electrical services project at the University of Essex.

Established by a royal charter in 1965, the University of Essex is one of the original glass plate universities. Essex Business School opened in 2015, the UK’s first zero-carbon business school building symbolic to the promotion of sustainable and ethical business practices, housing a winter garden giving the building its own micro-climate and a rainwater pond recycling water to cool the building.

In 2018, a STEM Centre opened to conglomerate the university’s science departments and The Copse student accommodation opened offering 643 new single ensuite rooms and studios. In 2019, the Innovation Centre, Knowledge Gateway opened offering space for more than 50 start-up technology businesses.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd have completed a test and inspection of the lightning protection system in place at the facility. This is required on an annual basis to ensure compliance with regulations.

In 2017, PTSG’s engineers installed a new lightning protection system at the University of Essex’s Wivenhoe Park campus. They also carried out annual testing, inspections and maintenance of systems at 35 existing structures at the campus.
