Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has secured a contract to deliver specialist services at Carlisle Racecourse.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will perform a vital test and inspection of the lightning protection system in place at the historic racecourse. The agreement was made with the principal contractor – a leading provider of mechanical, electrical and fabric maintenance solutions.

Carlisle Racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racing venue located in the village of Blackwell near Carlisle in Cumbria, England. The course has been on its present site since 1904, when it moved there from another location nearer to Carlisle. History was made on 2 July 1929 when the newly formed Totalisator Board operated their pool betting system for the first time on a British racecourse at Carlisle.

PTSG is one of the UK’s leading providers of lightning protection services, providing system design, installation, test and inspection for clients throughout the UK. One of the Group’s constituent companies, JW Gray, is believed to be the oldest trading company providing lightning protection services within the UK and possibly even Europe.

Please note that this story was published during the Coronavirus pandemic period. During this time, everyone at PTSG continues to adhere to all public health and government advice. This announcement is for information purposes only.
