Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is currently working on a project to provide a complete lightning protection solution for 103 Colmore Row – the highest structure in Birmingham.

The new building provides 230,084 square feet of office space as well as a top floor restaurant at the centre of the city’s bustling business district. The building is 26 storeys high, offers a four-storey winter garden and has 12 lifts – including two which are dedicated to serving the top floor restaurant.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd are involved in a highly complex task which utilises the building’s steelwork and Halfen cladding channels to ensure a continuous lightning protection system from top to bottom, left to right, to the earthing in the basement.

PTSG is one of the UK’s most experienced providers of specialist services for tall or otherwise unique buildings. The Group’s Access & Safety division has delivered unique access solutions on many of London’s iconic new buildings including The Scalpel (designing and installing two of the world’s largest building maintenance units), The Cheesegrater and The Vase.

The Group’s Building Access Specialists deliver specialist maintenance and repair services for unique buildings ranging from industrial chimneys to flare stacks – and even Blackpool Tower.
