Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has received an order to provide lightning protection for a major school refurbishment programme in the east of England.

Bungay High School is a large secondary school and sixth form college in Suffolk. It has around 900 pupils, with the capacity for up to 1,050. The school is undergoing a programme of refurbishment and PTSG Electrical Services Ltd has been contracted to retrofit a full lightning protection system to a Level 2 system, with 52 down conductors. A project of this type and size typically requires two skilled electrical services engineers for a period of two-three weeks.

The BS EN/IEC 62305 Standard determines four levels of lightning protection, each of which has a fixed set of maximum and minimum lightning current parameters. PTSG’s electrical engineers are highly experienced in working on older equipment or equipment installed by other suppliers.

As the UK’s leading provider of lightning protection services, PTSG can also provide standard packages or create bespoke solutions, depending on individual requirements. In addition, the group carries out periodic testing and inspections of systems, with the option to deliver any remedial works based on the results.
