Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has finished providing specialist earthing services at a new energy-from-waste project in Bedfordshire.

Rookery Pit South is a 90-hectare former brick clay extraction pit near Stewartby, which was granted a consent order in 2011 for a resource recovery facility. This will see waste used as an input material to create valuable products, thereby reducing the need for landfill space.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd carried out a highly specialised test which involved running leads out 1,200 metres and taking a series of measurements to verify the design requirements.

Hitachi Zosen, a major Japanese industrial and engineering corporation, is the ultimate client for the project. It produces waste treatment plants, industrial plants, precision machinery, industrial machinery, steel mill process equipment, steel structures, construction machinery, tunnelling machines, and power plants. PTSG Electrical Services Ltd. was appointed by main contractor Byrne Brothers to provide specialist earthing services at the site.

PTSG Electrical Services Ltd. is the UK market leader in the design, installation and testing of lightning protection and earthing systems, providing standard and bespoke systems. The company works not only in the UK but has expanded into international markets – completing work in Scandinavia and the Middle East.
