International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8 March is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.

As the UK’s leading provider of specialist services to the construction and FM sectors, Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) aims to be at the forefront of all aspects of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) – including equality, diversity and inclusion. The picture shows Martyna Dziwisinska, a self-employed engineer who began her rope access career PTSG.

People commonly accept rope access as the safest and most efficient method for accessing building façades. This enables operatives to install and remove all equipment quickly, causing minimal disruption and saving valuable time.

On this occasion of International Women’s Day, Martyna showed that there really are no limits to what a person can achieve and anyone, regardless of their gender, race or background, can get to the top – literally in her case!

PTSG has committed to the practices and principles of ESG before the business world integrated it into everyday language. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been rooted in PTSG’s business model from day one and in the ordinary course of business, its engineers operate in ways that enhance society and the environment – not because of government edicts but because it is the right thing to do.
