Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is carrying out specialist electrical testing for supermarket giant Aldi.

Aldi is a retail chain selling a range of grocery items, including produce, meat and dairy, at discount prices. A report in February 2020 indicated that the company was operating approximately 874 outlets in the UK, and there are 13 Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) throughout the UK and Ireland. Each is split into four areas: Transport, Warehouse, Maintenance and Quality Control.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd have recently performed a test and inspection of the lightning protection system in place at Aldi’s distribution centre in Bathgate, to the west of Livingston in Scotland. The test and inspection highlights any repairs that may be needed to keep the system fully operational and compliant with British Standards.

PTSG has delivered specialist services for some of the biggest names in retail including Tesco, M&S, Waitrose and Lidl. For the latter, probably the closest rival to Aldi in the UK, PTSG has recently installed a new lightning protection at two warehouses in the south-east.
