Pendrich Height Services (Pendrich), a constituent company of Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), is currently undergoing an audit at BP Sunbury, where its team is delivering a specialist job to repaint stanchions.

The stanchions are steel tension rods that carry the roof loading. The task is to take the 10 tonnes of tension from each stanchion, using lifting equipment, to allow them to be disconnected from the anchor pad eye. The team then removes deteriorated paint from the anchor pad eye and applies new paint.

Located in Sunbury-on-Thames, Greater London, the ICBT is ‘home’ to some 3,500 people from across the globe, working in more than 55 different international business teams. It is also arguably the most diverse location in the world for BP with more than 50 different nationalities, most major world religions represented and on any given day some 30 languages can be heard.

Recently, Pendrich has enjoyed significant audit success elsewhere too.

IRATA 3-Yearly Audit

Successfully completing the IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) 3-Yearly Audit affirms that Pendrich continues to meet the highest standards in rope access safety, training, and procedural integrity. IRATA accreditation is internationally recognized and requires organizations to consistently demonstrate strict adherence to best practices in operational safety and technician competency.

Intertek Audit

In addition, passing the Intertek Audit further reflects the company’s broader commitment to quality management, accountability, and customer-focused service delivery. Intertek audits are known for their thoroughness in assessing business systems, compliance to regulatory requirements, and ongoing dedication to quality assurance.

Achieving both these audit milestones in such a short timeframe is a testament to the professionalism, preparation, and dedication of the entire Pendrich Height Services team. It demonstrates a culture that not only values compliance but also actively leads in setting industry standards.

Pendrich Height Services is also proud to be one of a select few companies in the UK that hold full membership and accreditation from both ATLAS (the governing body for Steeplejack and Lightning Protection engineers) and IRATA (the global authority on industrial rope access). This rare dual accreditation reinforces the company’s position as a leader in height safety and specialist access solutions.
