Transformational Leader at the inaugural Yorkshire Leadership Awards 2018
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has been shortlisted for an award at the Construction News Specialists Awards 2019.
The Construction News Awards, now in their 15th year, celebrate the outstanding achievements of the very best specialist contractors in the UK and are the only national awards to do so.
Following completion of the first stage of judging PTSG was shortlisted in the FM Specialist of the Year Category.
As part of the judging process PTSG will be required to present to a judging panel made up of senior figures from the industry.
This is the third year running that PTSG has been shortlisted at the Construction News Specialists, last year the Group was named as a finalist in the Access & Scaffolding Specialist of the Year and the Innovation of the Year (Contractor) categories.
Winners of the Construction News Specialists Awards will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London on Wednesday the 27th March 2019.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) CEO, Paul Teasdale, has been named Transformational Leader at the inaugural Yorkshire Leadership Awards 2018.
The ceremony was held at the Queens Hotel in Leeds on Wednesday 28th November. Mr Teasdale beat some stiff competition to win the award, with Richard Corbridge of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Caroline Fattorini of Bowman Riley, Robert Harder of Hollinbay and David Laws of Leeds Bradford Airport also on the shortlist.
The Yorkshire Leadership Awards were created by TheBusinessDesk.com to celebrate the people and organisations across the region who are role models for their teams and raise the bar for their competitors. They were sponsored by Leeds Beckett University’s Leeds Business School and featured rugby league’s Jamie Peacock as keynote speaker. Peacock, who is widely acknowledged as one of the best players of the Super League era, addressed the 230 business leaders present at the awards by describing how strong leadership and teamwork can lead to great success.
Paul Teasdale has been at the helm of PTSG since it began trading in 2007. From a standing start, the company has grown to become the UK’s leading provider of niche specialist services, operating in four intrinsically linked markets: Access & Safety, Electrical Services, Building Access Specialists and Fire Solutions.

Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) Access and Safety division has recently completed a contract to test and certify access step units to one of Manchester’s most popular shopping centres.
Built in the 1970s, the Manchester Arndale was built alongside the constructions of many other shopping centres across the UK. Manchester Arndale is the largest of a chain of Arndale Centres built across the UK. Having been redeveloped after the Manchester bombing in 1996, the centre has a retail floorspace of just under 1,500,000 sq ft, making it Europe’s third largest city-centre shopping mall.
PTSG’s skilled engineers visited the site to test and certify 76 step units. All ladders and step units are designed on a project by project basis around BS EN 14122:2004 requirements. Engineers tested and certified each step unit to ensure that the current British Standard was met.
The Group’s specialist Access and Safety division offers a full design and fabrication service for ladders and step units. These can be manufactured in aluminium or galvanised mild steel to meet project requirements.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has secured a new completed a contract with Bluebutton Developer Company.
Established in 2012 in Bishopsgate in London, Bluebutton Developer Company works on the development of building projects in Greater London.
PTSG’s skilled engineers have visited the site to carry out critical works to cradle systems. Upon arriving on site, engineers realised that drive wheels on multiple cradle systems needed replacing. Multiple visits to the site were needed to ensure that all work was completed effectively. A crucial part of PTSG’s skilled engineers’ work is to ensure that all maintenance contracts are certified to the BS6037 standard.
PTSG’s highly-qualified Access and Safety division is the largest provider of cradle maintenance services for permanently installed suspended access equipment in the UK.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) Access and Safety division has recently completed a contract to test eyebolts at ABC International banking group.
ABC International Bank plc (ABCIB) was established in 1991 as a wholly-owned UK subsidiary of Bahrain-based Arab Banking Corporation (ABC). Headquartered in Greater London, ABC has branches and representative offices in France, Germany, Turkey and Italy. Bank ABC in the UK offers trade and commodity finance, project, export and structured finance, treasury services and Islamic financial services.
PTSG’s skilled engineers were called to the site to make sure the building’s eyebolts were compliant. Eyebolts act as an individual anchor point for safety when working at height. It is crucial to ensure that eyebolts are regularly tested and certified to reduce the risk of accidents. Engineers tested and repaired the eyebolts to meet the current British Standards.
The Group has a vast amount of experience working with large, corporate banking groups such as ABC International. The Group has recently completed contracts with VISA and BNP Paribas.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) Access and Safety division has secured a contract with Newham Sixth Form College.
Situated in the East London borough of Newham, Newham Sixth Form College opened in 1992 and is a mixed-gender, 16–19 college. The college is ranked by the Sutton Trust as being in the top 5% of high-performing sixth forms in England, in progressing students from disadvantaged backgrounds to university.
PTSG has secured a year-long cradle maintenance contract with the college. Engineers will visit the site regularly to carry out maintenance checks to all cradle systems on site. Alongside maintenance contracts, the Group also offers inspection, testing and repair services for all types of equipment including building maintenance units, gantry systems, cradle systems, monorail systems and lifting equipment.
PTSG has a vast amount of experience working in the education sector and has worked with a large number of schools and colleges. The Group’s Access and Safety division has recently carried out critical work at London School of Economics and Bath College.

Situated in London’s Westminster, Stafford Mansions is a luxury mansion block converted into a number of two-bedroom apartments. Just a stone’s throw away from a few of London’s most famous landmarks, the mansion is only a short walk from Buckingham Palace, Green Park and St James Park.
The Group’s engineers visited the site to test and certify mansafe systems at the grand building. A mansafe system is used to keep the operative safe by connecting them to the system using appropriate PPE. The system comprises cable, post and fixings that are tested to take the fall of the user. These usually take the form of a fall arrest system or a fall restraint system.

PTSG has secured a six-month cradle maintenance contract with the client’s office in London. Engineers are due to visit the site to carry out regular maintenance checks to cradle systems on site. PTSG’s skilled engineers will ensure that all maintenance contracts are certified to the BS6037 standard.

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has raised over £200 for this year’s Children in Need appeal.
Staff from three of the Group’s 21 UK office locations took part in the fund raising on Friday 16th November. Louise Patterson and Liv Frizzell arranged for staff in PTSG’s Manchester office (‘BEST’ Brooke Edgeley (Industrial Chimneys) Ltd.) to turn up for work in pyjamas. The 12 people who took part contributed £2.50, while those in ordinary clothes donated £5.
The idea was passed to PTSG’s Scotland and Kidderminster offices, where a further 12 people took part. The amounts raised were:
- Manchester: £115
- Scotland: £70
- Kidderminster: £25
Since 1980 Children in need has raised over £1,000 million for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. This year alone, a phenomenal £50,595,053 was raised. The annual telethon showed a wide variety of ways in which the grand money was raised. PTSG’s staff were delighted to add their contribution to this hugely worthwhile cause.
Over the years, PTSG has supported a variety of charitable causes. Most recently, this has included the Mitie Charity Ball – for the fifth year running. This year, PTSG has donated a new Apple iPod Touch for the event’s grand prize draw.
