Interserve is a multinational support services and construction company founded in 1884 and based in the UK. PTSG has already partnered with the organisation on a number of facilities management contracts including the Department for Work and Pensions and the Ministry of Justice.
The Group’s skilled engineers will assist the company with maintenance and remedial work on dry risers, sprinklers and fire doors. These services are vital to ensure that people, property and assets are adequately protected from fire.

The centre:MK opened in 1979 and was granted Grade-II listed status in 2010. It is now the UK’s 14th largest shopping centre, comprising over 200 shops and restaurants.
Engineers from the Group’s Electrical Services division will provide fixed wire testing at the centre, ensuring that these sites are safe and compliant for building users and facilities management teams.
Fixed wire testing is just one of the services performed by PTSG’s Electrical Services division. The group is also a leading provider portable appliance testing, lightning protection and earthing services, helping to keep its clients’ staff and customers safe.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has secured a multidisciplinary contract for the NHS at Nottingham City Hospital.
The significant contract will see engineers from across the Group providing vital lightning protection, fall arrest testing and fixed wire testing services across the entire hospital site, which comprises over 90 buildings.
The hospital’s history can be traced back to 1782 when it was developed as a workhouse infirmary. The hospital now plays a key role in teaching and research in partnership with the University of Nottingham Medical School.
PTSG has vast expertise working in the healthcare sector, having previously worked at sites such as Royal Derby Hospital, University Hospital of Wales and Royal Liverpool University Hospital. The Group has twice been shortlisted in the PFM awards’ Partners in Healthcare category, recognising its commitment to carefully plan and implement all works so as not to disrupt the critical activities carried out at these sites every day.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has been contracted to provide electrical testing services for the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL).
CNWL has around 7,000 staff providing integrated healthcare to a third of London’s population, Milton Keynes and other nearby areas. The trust operates across 150 sites and provides more than 300 different health services.
The Group’s Electrical Services engineers will provide fixed wire and portable appliance testing to ensure that all electricals and appliances at the trust’s sites are safe to use, ensuring the safety of patients, staff and visitors.
PTSG’s stringent planning procedures make it an ideal supplier to the healthcare sector, where careful planning is essential on critical live sites. Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) will provide a variety of services to 11 new schools in Hackney.
As Hackney’s population rises, applications for school places have risen drastically. These 11 new schools, constructed as part of a programme that covers rebuilds, refurbishments and new builds, will create thousands of much-needed places for pupils.
Skilled engineers from across the Group will attend all 11 sites to carry out dry riser and sprinkler inspections, ManSafe lanyards and harnesses, lightning protection and portable appliance testing. Other notable contracts PTSG deliver include fall arrest remedial works at St Andrews University, high level cleaning at Oxford University and lightning protection for the University of Leeds.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG)’s Fire Solutions division has secured a contract to install sprinkler systems at Unite Students’ Leeds Plaza student accommodation.
Unite Students is the UK’s leading operator of purpose-built student accommodation. The organisation provides a home to 50,000 students in more than 140 properties across 24 of the UK’s largest university cities.
Sprinkler systems are incredibly valuable in shared accommodation like this because they are unbeatably reliable and effective. In most cases, just one sprinkler is capable of extinguishing a fire, as when a fire reaches extremely high temperatures, the sprinkler closest to the fire activates, spraying water directly onto the flames beneath it.
PTSG has worked with Unite for almost a decade, and in 2015 the two organisations were awarded a PFM award for their strong partnership and successful collaboration.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has taken centre stage in the August edition of PFM magazine, with the cover story focusing on the Group’s rapidly growing Fire Services division – in particular the provision of sprinkler systems.
The story was published shortly after the anniversary of the Grenfell Tower disaster and leads on how a sprinkler system could have limited the damage to the building and the tragic loss of life that ensued. The article goes on to describe how PTSG’s specialist sprinkler engineers regularly carry out full hazard reviews to ensure that sites are safe and compliant, giving landlords peace of mind that, should the worst happen, their tenants are safe.
Fire suppression systems like those installed by PTSG are vital in large buildings such as Grenfell Tower, but can be just as valuable in smaller buildings too. There is still an alarming lack of awareness of fire safety and suppression, with less than a third of schools built since 2014 having a sprinkler system installed. PTSG offers a complete installation, inspection and maintenance service to ensure continued operation, compliance and most importantly the safety of building occupants in the event of a fire.
PTSG is a familiar presence in PFM magazine; as one of the industry’s leading exponents of health and safety practices and procedures, news of how the Group remains at the cutting edge is of great interest to its readership. PFM is widely recognised as one of the industry’s most respected titles.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has completed the testing of lightning protection systems for Flintshire County Council.
Flintshire, in north-east Wales, is the country’s sixth most populated county, with just over 150,000 people living there. Engineers from the Group’s Electrical Services division tested lightning protection systems at 99 residential housing blocks.
In May 2018, more than 100 lightning strikes hit North Wales in a single night, highlighting the importance of such lightning protection systems. In residential buildings like those in Flintshire, the system safeguards all electrical equipment in the event of a storm. As a result, residents’ safety is greatly enhanced.
PTSG is the UK market leader in the design, installation and testing of lightning protection and earthing systems. With multiple offices situated in different parts of the country, its engineers can respond immediately to calls from clients wherever they may be.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) Electrical Services divisional director, Craig Finney, has been named as a finalist in the Account Director of the Year category in this year’s PFM Awards.
Craig joined PTSG in 2010 with a decade of expertise in lightning protection. He was appointed to the role of divisional director of Electrical Services in 2015 and currently manages a number of key accounts, including Thames Valley Police and Arcus FM – which provides services to buildings including Sainsbury’s.
During his directorship Craig has overseen impressive growth of the Electrical Services division and has helped to strengthen PTSG’s reputation in the industry through active participation in professional institutions such as the Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS).
This is the Group’s fourth nomination in this year’s PFM awards, following shortlistings in the Partners in Cleaning, Partners in Facilities Technology and Partners in Corporate (Private Sector) categories.
The PFM awards are a major event in the FM industry calendar and will be attended by hundreds of industry professionals from across the country. This year’s awards ceremony will take place on 7th November at the Brewery in London.
