Premier Technical Services Group has secured a contract to provide lighting protection installations to a new private rental housing scheme in Waltham Forest, North London.
The Blackhorse Mills scheme comprises a mix of homes ranging from studio flats to 3-bedroom homes and includes 20,000 sq ft of commercial accommodation. The scheme is located 200m from Blackhorse Road tube station in Walthamstow and is due to complete in early 2020.
Engineers from PTSG’s Electrical Services division will attend five sites, including a combination of townhouses and flats, to install new lightning protection systems, all to the relevant BSEN 62305 standard.
PTSG regularly undertakes works at new build residential sites, providing a range of niche specialists services using resources from across its four dedicated divisions. The Group’s Electrical Services division will be involved in several high-profile schemes in London in 2018, including a large-scale redevelopment project at Chrisp Street Market and the testing and commissioning of lightning protection at the new Canary Wharf Station.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) will begin work to provide lightning protection at a shopping centre extension in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
The Beacon, the name for the rebranded Eastbourne Arndale Shopping Centre, is currently undergoing an £85million revamp and extension, which is due to be complete by Christmas 2018. The new centre will contain an additional 22 retail units, seven restaurants and an eight-screen cinema, to complement the existing range of shops.
PTSG’s specialist lightning protection engineers will attend the site to install lightning protection to the shopping centre and its multi-storey car park. The systems will be installed to BSEN 62305 standards, ensuring they protect building users in the event of a lightning strike.

Premier Technical Services PLC (PTSG) has been awarded a contract to provide installation of lightning protection at Westminster City Hall in Victoria, London SW1.
Westminster City Hall, located in London’s Victoria district is a 19-storey office building that is home to Westminster City Council and over 5,000 employees. The building is a short walk from Victoria Station.
PTSG’s specialist lightning protection engineers will attend the site to provide refurbishment to the building’s existing lightning protection system, upgrading it to the relevant BSEN 62305 standard, ensuring it will protect building users in the event of a lightning strike.
PTSG’s Electrical Services division provides a wealth of maintenance services for many local authorities across the UK. The division was recently awarded a contract to provide lightning protection inspections, testing and maintenance at 37 sites for Rochdale Borough Council.

MediaCityUK is a 200-acre mixed-use property development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford and Trafford, Greater Manchester. The scheme’s principal tenants are media organisations including the BBC and ITV Granada, and the University of Salford.
Engineers from PTSG’s specialist Fire Solutions division attended X1 Media City, a residential development consisting of four luxury towers, to install residential sprinkler systems to 275 apartments. The team also installed new wet riser systems which supply the complex with water in the event of a fire.

PTSG’s Fire Solutions division deployed its specialist engineers to install residential sprinkler systems within 197 apartments at the Royal Arsenal Riverside development. The team also installed new wet riser systems, which are permanently charged with water in the event of a fire.

Specialist engineers from PTSG’s Fire Solutions division supplied and fitted sprinkler systems to new 602-bed student accommodation located at the development. The team also installed new dry and wet riser systems, which supply the building with water in the event of a fire.
Belgrade Plaza is a popular mixed-use destination located in Coventry’s city centre. As well as student accommodation, the site boasts an award-winning carpark, a 120-bedroom Premier Inn, Bella Italia and Pizza Express restaurants and 64 fully let residential apartments.
