Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has entered into a major new contract with Muir Construction to deliver Access & Safety systems at a new Amazon distribution warehouse.
Amazon UK DDD1 is a critical warehouse project in Dundee. Construction was undertaken with a sharp focus on sustainability and community engagement in line with the Amazon team’s CSR initiatives. This purpose-built 144,000ft² logistics unit will help service the east coast of Scotland.
Founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos in Bellevue, Washington, the company originally started as an online marketplace for books but gradually expanded its offerings to include a wide range of product categories, referred to as “The Everything Store”.
This is a major project in which engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will install almost a mile of fall protection systems: 600m of Kingspan fixed guardrail and 900m of Kingspan walkway.
Each year, over 30% of workplace fatalities in the UK involve falls from height, with equipment failure being a leading contributor. Maintaining safe and compliant systems for working at height is crucial to reducing the likelihood of a problem. With PTSG, one call covers everything from suspended access systems through to rope access systems and fall protection systems.
