Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has won a major contract to perform electrical testing works at Luton and Dunstable Hospital to ensure it is compliant, meeting the Electricity at Work Regulations (EaWR) 1989.

The contract will be carried out by Guardian Electrical Compliance Ltd, one of the constituent companies of PTSG, which became part of the Group in October 2018. Headquartered in Sheffield, it employs some of the industry’s most experienced and respected electrical engineers.

Luton and Dunstable University Hospital is an acute hospital run by the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. It provides medical and surgical services for over 350,000 people in Bedfordshire, the north of Hertfordshire and parts of Buckinghamshire.

Hospitals present a uniquely challenge environment in which to deliver specialist services. Depending on the hospital, access to all parts of the buildings needs to be planned meticulously to allow engineers to complete a shutdown, testing and reboot of circuits without absolute zero impact upon the 24/7 critical operation of the facility.

PTSG has previous experience of delivering electrical services in a live hospital environment, with projects completed at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Please note that this story was published during the Coronavirus pandemic period. During this time, everyone at PTSG continues to adhere to all public health and government advice. This announcement is for information purposes only.
