Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has successfully completed works at a luxury residential development in Lambeth, London.
Engineers from PTSG’s Electrical Services Division attended the County Hall Apartments to carry out major lightning protection repairs on the roof of the apartments. The works were awarded after it had been identified that the majority of the lightning protection earth connection points, located within the roof, had failed due to corrosion.
PTSG’s operatives were tasked with replacing 20 connections within the fabric of the roof whilst minimising disruption and inconvenience for the tenants of these prestigious properties. The roof of the apartments has very little edge protection and therefore required PTSG’s specialist team to take additional safety precautions to ensure they were attached to the building at all times by a full body harness and restraint lines.
County Hall Apartments is a development of 605 luxury flats in the heart of central London, located close to the Thames and London Eye. The buildings forming the North and South blocks were originally built in York Road as offices for London County Council between 1936 and 1939.
PTSG is the market leader in the design, installation and testing of lightning protection and earthing systems, and strengthened its service offering this year with the acquisition of Nimbus Lightning Protection Ltd, based in Nottingham.
