Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) is delighted to announce a number of new additions to its Fire Solutions division.
The Group has several offices in the north west, from where its teams of engineers carry out the installation and maintenance of dry risers and sprinkler systems for clients nationwide. On 1st July, three new dry riser testing engineers and one sprinkler engineer will start with PTSG, bolstering its numbers and enabling its teams to increase their capacity.
PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd. was formed in 2017, starting with the provision of dry riser installations and maintenance. The addition of further services quickly followed, and the Group now offers a fully comprehensive range of fire solutions including safe cladding installation, wet and dry-risers installation and maintenance, sprinklers and other extinguisher systems, fire alarms and emergency lighting installation and testing.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has received excellent feedback from the UK’s largest not-for-profit care provider for a recent fire solutions contract in Essex.
PTSG’s dry riser maintenance divisions (UK Dry Risers Maintenance), based near Manchester, delivered the specialist fire solutions for Anchor Hanover at its Elizabeth Gardens Extra Care development – containing 65 properties for people aged 55+.
PTSG was hired via main contractor Interserve Support Services. Lucy Gooch, Estate Manager (Anchor Hanover Group, Extra Care) made the following comment about the quality of work from PTSG:
“Just to let you know that subcontractor UK Dry Risers Maintenance came (on behalf of Interserve) and completed these works yesterday and they were really very good and informative afterwards as to what they had completed. Nice to deal with such good contractors – well done UK Dry Risers Maintenance – all the way from Manchester!”
Delivering outstanding customer service is the main aim amongst PTSG’s 1,200 members of staff. It has seen the Group consistently achieve a contract renewal rate of 88% or higher since its founding year of 2007.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has entered into a partnership with Churchill Retirement Living (Midlands) in support of its charity, the Churchill Foundation.
Churchill Retirement Living is well known for its charity work and in 2015, the Churchill Foundation was set up to enable the company to focus on supporting local communities as well as national charities. The three core areas are:
• The relief of disease, sickness and human suffering
• The promotion of health amongst the elderly
• The support and well-being of the young
Business partners who join the charity scheme donate 0.5% of invoices for work delivered for Churchill Retirement Living to the foundation. Since registration with the Charity Commission, the Churchill Foundation has raised over £1,000,000.
PTSG is a keen supporter of charitable causes and as the Group and its workforce continue to grow, money is raised in an increasingly diverse number of ways. Recently, teams from around the four business divisions have taken part in or signed up for ultra-endurance events. These include the Mallorca 312 – a 312-kilometre cycle event around the island’s mountains; and the London to Brighton Off-Road Bike Ride – an exhilarating 75-mile route from London to Brighton’s seafront.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has recently completed the installation of a new dry riser at Tottenham Hotspur’s training facility.
The new architecturally designed Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre has been built on 77 acres and is located on Hotspur Way, Enfield. It is the home of the Club’s First Team and Academy and is recognised as one of the best in Europe. Engineers from PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd. installed 40 metres of high-level feed to serve one outlet valve.

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has observed, with great interest, the approach to fire safety taken in the restoration of parliament and the construction of the new parts of its surrounding estate.
The chair of the sponsor board has stated that construction firms will be expected to do “everything humanly possible” to minimise fire risks. Plans unveiled this week include proposals for a redeveloped Richmond House building, which will host the House of Commons for between five and eight years while restoration work takes place.
The approach echoed a warning from House of Commons leader Andrea Leadsom that “the fire at Notre-Dame showed the potential danger of an old building in the state that our Palace of Westminster is in.”
The Notre Dame fire occurred two years after the Grenfell Tower tragedy in London. Although the two events were different in cause and effect, both highlight the need for the most stringent standards in fire prevention and suppression in buildings.
Grenfell Tower triggered a renewed call for a higher minimum standard in building fire safety and several councils in London alone responded immediately by overhauling their high-rise accommodation. PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd. continues to experience a constant demand for its sprinklers and wet and dry riser systems (installations and maintenance). Other services provided across the Group, include: Fire Detection & Life Safety Systems, Fire Detection & Alarm Systems, Public Address/Voice Alarms (PA/VA), Emergency Voice Communication Systems (EVCS), Fire Suppression, Kitchen Suppression, Portable Fire Extinguishers, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarm and Door Entry Systems.

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG), which undertakes a significant amount of work in the field of fire solutions in public and private high-rise buildings, has welcomed today’s announcement by the government for a major investment in safer cladding in 150 private high-rise blocks in England.
The catalyst for the major £200m investment was, of course, the Grenfell fire of 2017 in which 72 people lost their lives. In one of the UK’s worst modern disasters, it took just minutes for the fire to spread upwards and around all four sides of the building, engulfing it in flames.
PTSG’s rope access and fire solutions teams have worked on a number of private and public sector building removing and replacing cladding over the last 12 months. The team consists of some of the industry’s leading building access specialists.
Commenting on the disaster at the time, Paul Atkins of PTSG’s fire solutions southeast team, told BBC London: “If they’d had a sprinkler system the fire would have been deluged before it got to the cladding. People would’ve had plenty of time to leave the building. To date no-one has ever died in a fire with a sprinkler system in the household.”
All PTSG’s sprinkler systems for commercial and residential buildings are installed in accordance with the BS9251 standard and wet risers are installed to the current BS9990 2015 standard. PTSG’s specialist Building Access and Fire Solutions teams offer a wide range of services to ensure the safety of building users in the event of a fire, including safe cladding installation, wet and dry-risers installation and maintenance, sprinklers and other extinguisher systems, fire alarms and emergency lighting installation and testing.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) is forging ahead with its Fire Solutions division, with a number of new sprinkler installations contracts in London and the South East.
Fire safety systems, which both detect and suppress fires, are now a requirement in buildings of all kinds. Sprinklers are proven to deluge fires before they can spread out of control. To date, no one has ever died in a fire with a sprinkler system in the household.
PTSG has been contracted for the installation of sprinklers at the following:
o Friars Primary Foundation – a Hazard 1 installation to protect the entirety of the school’s buildings, with systems fed from a pump and a tank;
o London Trocadero – a contract to install sprinklers in the basement areas of the entertainment complex, which is located close to Piccadilly Circus.
o Contracts to install residential sprinklers at four different addresses including Woodstock Studios – a complex in the former BBC studios on Woodstock Grove, immortalised in the 1979 adaptation of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy, starring Alec Guiness.
Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) is working with the London Metropolitan Police force to provide a number of crucial services from its Fire Solutions division.
Headquartered in Castleford, West Yorkshire, PTSG has 31 office locations; for this new contract, engineers from its Maidstone office will be renewing existing alarm valves and pipework for one of the MET Police’s many sites.
The Metropolitan Police Service, known informally as “The MET”, gave rise to the nickname of “bobbies” for its officers, as it was founded by Sir Robert Peel in 1829. It enforces the law in the 32 London boroughs, as well as having other, unique responsibilities including co-ordinating and leading UK anti-terrorism matters and protecting the Royal Family.
PTSG is becoming a trusted and popular name in providing of all kinds of fire solutions, both within the capital and throughout the UK. PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd. complements its three other business divisions; as a Group, PTSG often delivers the complete special services package for customers in many different sectors.

Its engineers have recently won contracts to install sprinkler systems at the London Trocadero and Woodstock Studios – the former BBC studios which produced the classic adaptation of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy in 1979.
London Underground is, of course, one of the world’s most iconic transport systems. There are 270 stations within the system, the deepest of which (Hampstead on the Northern Line) is nearly 200 feet below street level. The Elizabeth Line (also known as Crossrail) is the latest addition to the system, running from Reading through to Shenfield. It is scheduled to be open in autumn 2019.
PTSG is proud to be making a small but vital contribution to the safe upkeep of London Underground.
