PTSG Apprenticeships - The Class of 2026 is Open for Applications

Some careers start with a degree.

Ours start with a van, a mentor, and a willingness to learn.

PTSG is one of the UK’s leading specialist building services groups – 3,500 people, 90,000 clients, 170 services delivered across five divisions. And right now, we’re looking for the next generation of engineers, technicians and future leaders to grow with us.

We’re recruiting up to 50 apprentices this year. By year three, we expect to have around 150 apprentices in structured training across the Group at any one time. This is the biggest investment in talent we have ever made.

Our CEO Started Exactly Where You're Starting

PTSG CEO Greg Ward sits at the top of one of the most ambitious specialist services groups in the country. He also started his career as an apprentice.

“As an apprentice, you’re there to learn, to watch, to ask questions. You’re hands-on, you’re curious, and you’ve got respect for the people around you because they know more than you do. That hasn’t changed for me. I’m still learning from people every day.”

“Hard work creates your own luck. Nothing falls into your lap. Show up, do the work, go beyond what’s expected. Don’t wait for opportunities – create them.”

Greg Ward, Chief Executive Officer, PTSG

The apprentice mindset – curious, hardworking, respectful – is not something you grow out of at PTSG. It’s something we build the whole business around.

What an Apprenticeship at PTSG Looks Like

This is a real job from day one. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and specialists, gaining practical skills and technical qualifications that can’t be learned in a classroom.

Every apprentice receives:

Starting salaries typically range from £18,000 to £22,000, rising as your skills, experience and qualifications develop.

The PTSG Centre of Excellence

Launching in July 2026, the PTSG Centre of Excellence is the dedicated home of our apprenticeship and technical training programme.

It brings together hands-on practical learning, classroom education and mentoring support under one roof — giving every apprentice the foundation they need to build a serious career in engineering and specialist services.
