No Falls Week (12-16 May 2025) returns to Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) with renewed energy and purpose, this week elevating our commitment to height safety across all operations. This year’s activities include creation of a new series of training videos designed to provide practical, accessible safety guidance that team members can view on demand.
The statistics tell a compelling story: 50 people died from falls in 2023-24 – one person every week who never made it home – with an additional 37,000 injuries reported. For a company where many team members regularly work at elevation, these numbers reinforce why PTSG continues to prioritise prevention strategies that have contributed to its safety record.
Heath Ralphson (PTSG’s Senior Director – Group HSE) explains: “To highlight No Falls Week, we’ve created a video training series featuring some of our Access and Safety engineers taking part in their Working-at-Height training. The videos cover, PPE Equipment, Harness Inspection, Safe Use of Ladders, using Sealed Rescue Kits and MEWP Inspections.
This year, No Falls Week shares the calendar with Mental Health Awareness Week an alignment that highlights PTSG’s holistic approach to safety, recognising that mental wellbeing is just as crucial as physical protection.
Heath Ralphson continued: “Clear minds make safer decisions, especially when you’re working at significant heights. The connection between mental focus and physical safety cannot be overstated, particularly in high-risk environments.”
PTSG continues to lead meaningful conversations around height safety, with these training resources forming part of a broader commitment to elevating safety standards across sectors.
An important aspect of No Falls Week is the recognition that height safety principles extend beyond professional settings. The same knowledge that protects our engineers on the job can safeguard families during home activities – whether using a step ladder for painting or cleaning gutters. These transferable skills create a safety mindset that benefits communities beyond our workforce.
Heath Ralphson continued: “No Falls Week represents our ongoing commitment to ensuring everyone returns home safely each day. This isn’t simply a corporate initiative or awareness week; it’s a reflection of our core values and professional standards. The safe way is the only way, it’s our licence to operate – because getting everyone home safely is both our priority and our promise.”
