Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is completing specialist electrical services at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk.

Despite its status as a Royal Air Force station, it primarily supports United States Air Force operations, and is currently the home of the 100th Air Refuelling Wing. The base opened on 16th October 1934. It was active throughout World War II and in 1950 was made available to the United States Air Force by the UK’s Ministry of Defence as a Strategic Air Command (SAC) B-29 Superfortress bomber airfield, with joint operations with the Royal Air Force units.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd are currently completing repairs to the lightning protection system in place at the air base.

PTSG has a successful history of delivering specialist services within secure, operational air force bases. Recently, the Group’s engineers completed a full test and inspection of the lightning protection system in place at RAF Feltwell in Norfolk and RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. Such tests are statutory and highlight any remedial works that may be required to ensure they continue to function perfectly. In the past, its engineers have worked at RAF Marham in Norfolk, delivering essential upgrades to existing lightning protection systems.
