Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist Access & Safety services at a scheme that will create a shared site for two very different companies, each well-known in their own sector.

The scheme will comprise a self-storage unit for Shurgard in Cheshunt; it will also include a Lidl food store. The new building will be approximately 3,000 square metres in size.

Shurguard has 89 self-storage facilities in London, East Midlands, East of England, North-West, South-East South-West, Wales and West Midlands, strategically located near main roads and public transport. Lidl is an international discount retailer chains that operates over 12,650 stores in Germany and 30 other countries. The company opened its first store in the UK in 1994. Its grocery market share in the UK was 8.1% in June 2025.

In this contract, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will deliver fall protection systems at the new shared site. Building safety equipment, or fall protection, is essential to ensure operatives remain safe when carrying out their work at height, preventing them from falling. Fall arrest equipment typically includes full body harnesses, horizontal lifelines and anchor points. The equipment is used to protect workers from serious injury or death in the event of a fall. Fall restraint systems stop workers from reaching the edge of a work area, so that no fall can occur. Systems include edge protection, guard rails and demarcation.
