Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), via constituent companies Indepth Services (Indepth) and System Hygienics, is to deliver specialist passive fire services for Norfolk County Council.

Norfolk County Council is the upper-tier local authority for Norfolk. Below it there are seven second-tier district councils: Breckland, Broadland, Great Yarmouth, North Norfolk, Norwich, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, and South Norfolk. The council has been under Conservative majority control since 2017.

The council is based at County Hall on Martineau Lane in Norwich. The building was purpose-built for the council and opened in 1968. The council is in charge of all nursery, primary and secondary state schools throughout Norfolk (except for academies), but not in charge of tertiary education. It is also responsible for coordinating and managing the adult social care of the population of Norfolk, and responsible for maintaining Norfolk’s 10,000 kilometres (6,200 mi) road networks and bus routes.

In this contract, engineers from Indepth will provide fire door services and ventilation cleaning at sites within the Norfolk County Council Estate.

Apart from presenting a fire risk, the accumulation of grease in the kitchen extract system reduces ventilation efficiency by restricting the movement of extracted air, resulting in overheating, excessive humidity, possible failure to remove noxious fumes from gas-burning appliances, and a continuing source of unwanted odours which can permeate the rest of the building. Ventilation cleaning is therefore a vital part of any organisation’s fire safety programme.
