Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is continuing a project to deliver specialist electrical services at Culham Science Centre, which is owned and managed by the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority.

Culham Campus, formerly known as the Royal Naval Air Station HMS Hornbill, has a rich history dating back to its commissioning in 1944. In the late 1950s, the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority selected Culham as an ideal location for a state-of-the-art laboratory dedicated to plasma physics and fusion research. Construction began in the early 1960s, and the laboratory officially opened in 1965. Today, Culham Campus is home to the largest Fusion Technology Cluster and supporting fusion energy technologies.

PTSG Access & Safety Ltd has now secured a contract to provide a second round of surveys of fall arrest systems and equipment in place on the exterior of the site in Culham. This includes ladders, handrails and Mansafe systems.

A Mansafe system is a fall protection solution, typically a horizontal lifeline system, that allows workers to move safely at height by providing an anchor point and a continuous, secure connection via a harness and lanyard. PTSG installs, tests and inspects and delivers maintenance works to the full spectrum of fall arrest and fall restraint equipment, ensuring operatives remain as safe as possible when working at height.
