Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), via its constituent company Neo, has successfully secured a renewed contract to deliver fire door inspections across a major international university in the North of England. Neo has been providing these services since 2022 and was selected following a fully open, competitive tender process.
The university, with campuses across Lancashire and Cumbria and origins dating back to 1828, is ranked in the top 7% of universities globally and was named University of the Year 2023 by the Edufuturists Awards. Its diverse estate includes historic 19th-century buildings, modern lecture halls, laboratories, and student accommodation.
Under the renewed contract, Neo will deliver planned fire door inspections in line with the SFG20 specification across all campuses. The role also includes readiness to undertake remedial repairs where required, ensuring compliance and safety standards are consistently maintained.
The project presents unique challenges, including coordinating inspections across multiple campuses, managing large and varied building stock, and working within a live academic environment to minimise disruption to lectures, research, and student life.
Neo’s FIRAS/BM Trada-accredited teams combine technical competence, programme management expertise, and stakeholder engagement to deliver inspections and potential remedial works efficiently. Digital reporting ensures all records meet the university’s compliance and “golden thread” requirements, providing a clear and auditable record of safety-critical work.
The contract renewal demonstrates Neo’s continuity, reliability, and ability to deliver high-standard fire safety services across complex, multi-campus estates.
