Pendrich Height Services, part of Premier Technical Services Group Ltd, is on site at the British Steel plant in Scunthorpe, where its team is well underway with the dismantling of a chimney.
Pendrich has carried out steeplejack and specialist rope access services at the plant several times over the last few years and was first to be considered for this project – to dismantle the redundant west chimney stack on the famous site in North Lincolnshire.
The company’s specialists used their bespoke access platform to dismantle the 76-metre gunite-lined (dry concrete) steel chimney into piecemeal sections. The stack has now been reduced by 25%.
Pendrich was established as a company that carried out traditional steeplejack techniques to maintain structures such as church steeples and industrial chimney stacks.
Today, it is a market leader in the high-level maintenance industry, servicing clients worldwide, carrying out work to various building elements such as chimney stacks, cooling towers, flare stacks and other high and unconventional structures.
Pendrich is part of PTSG Building Access Specialists Ltd, which carries out a complete range of maintenance and cleaning works for every structure in the built environment.
