Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services at Luton Airport for Shell Aviation, via Menzies Aviation.
Luton Airport is the fourth-busiest airport serving London. It was opened in July 1938 and was used by fighters of the Royal Air Force during the Second World war. Commercial activity and general aviation slight training at Luton resumed in 1952. In 2018, over 16.5 million passengers passed through the airport, a record total for Luton making it the fifth busiest airport in the UK.
Luton Airport has a single, two-storey passenger terminal building which has been expanded and rearranged several times. The ground floor has a main hall equipped with 62 check-in desks (1-62), a separate security screening hall, as well as some shops, service counters and the arrivals facilities. The airport also has a single runway.
In this contract, PTSG’s Lightning Protection Installations Division will install a brand-new lightning protection system to provide a high level of protection to the site and its users.
