Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is currently delivering a series of Access & Safety works at Culham Science Centre.
The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority owns and manages Culham Campus. The campus is located in one of the most successful science locations in the country. Culham Campus partners with Science Vale UK to promote southern Oxfordshire as a global hotspot for enterprise and innovation in science.
The UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is the national research organisation for the development of fusion energy. UKAEA’s programmes include the MAST Upgrade (Mega Amp Spherical Tokamak) experiment and JET (Joint European Torus) fusion research facility. The other is STEP, an abbreviation for Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production. STEP is an ambitious programme to accelerate the delivery of fusion energy, with plans to deliver a prototype powerplant.
Engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd have completed a site survey and planned preventative maintenance of existing fall arrest systems and equipment in place on the roof of the buildings on Culham Campus. There are a further 14 remedial actions to be taken as a result of the site survey, which PGTSG’s engineers are also contracted to complete.
PTSG was previously on site in December 2023 at Culham Campus, when its engineers installed a number of ladders to the exterior of the building. This enabled maintenance operatives to gain safe access to the roof when carrying out vital preservation work.
