Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has successfully completed electrical services works at Phase 3 of the iconic Battersea Power Station development, one of London’s most recognisable regeneration projects.
Phase 3 is a key part of the regeneration of the Battersea Power Station site in London. The transformation of the 42-acre brownfield site around the formerly redundant power station is one of the most ambitious regeneration projects London has seen in decades. Electric Boulevard, featuring vibrant rows of independent shops with stylish apartments above, will be at the heart of the new community.
Alongside the redevelopment of the Grade II* listed Power Station structure itself, the £9 billion project will see the wider site transformed into a vibrant community of apartments, shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, offices and more than 19 acres of public space.
The visit presented particular technical challenges, as no operation and maintenance manual or “as fitted” drawings were available for reference. Despite this, the engineer carried out a detailed site investigation to locate the reference earths, which were subsequently tested in line with required standards.
In addition, a full visual inspection of the surge protection devices was undertaken, along with a comprehensive roof inspection to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the lightning protection system.
PTSG continues to demonstrate its expertise in delivering high-quality lightning protection testing and inspection services, even in complex environments, helping to ensure the ongoing safety and compliance of landmark buildings across the UK.
