Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been instructed to carry out electrical testing at seven corporate offices for Kier, including the company’s construction services office nationwide portfolio.

PTSG is the preferred supplier of specialist services to Kier – the UK construction, services and property group. Despite being a British company, Kier was founded by Danish engineers Jurgen Lotz and Olaf Kier in 1928, under the name Lotz and Kier, with a headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent. A few years later Lotz withdrew from the company.

The new contract will see engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd completing portable appliance testing (PAT) at the seven different sites for Kier.

The law requires that portable appliances are tested, satisfying four separate regulations. Only competent persons should conduct PAT, possessing adequate knowledge and experience of electrical work, an understanding of the hazards that may arise and an ability to recognise whether it is safe for work to proceed. PTSG has unrivalled knowledge in the testing of portable appliances, ensuring organisations of all kinds are safe and compliant on an ongoing basis.
