Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services at a new green energy scheme in Market Harborough.

The anaerobic digestion plant at Marigold Farm, off Welham Way, Great Bowden, will treat chicken manure, maize and straw to create biogas. Developer Great Bowden Green Energy Ltd will pipe the gas to the nearby National Grid plant. Up to 40,000 tonnes of waste will be processed per year, generating enough gas to heat approximately 7,000 homes.

In this contract, PTSG’s Lightning Protection Installations Division will install a brand-new lightning protection system to provide a high level of protection to the site and its users.

PTSG has been involved in a number of similar projects to this over the last few years. They include Lostock Energy from Waste Facility in January 2023, the Gloucester energy from Waste Facility in February 2020, Rookery Pit South in Befordshire in July 2020, Teeside Energy from Waste Facility and Baldovie Energy from Waste Facility in Scotland. The Group’s specialists carried out a variety of specialist services from the installation of lightning protection systems to the inspection of fire doors.
