Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has completed a specialist electrical services project at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London.

The Apollo Victoria Theatre is a West End theatre on Wilton Road in the Westminster district of London, across from London Victoria Station. Opened in 1930 as a cinema and variety theatre, the Apollo Victoria became a venue for musical theatre, beginning with The Sound of Music in 1981, and including the long-running Starlight Express, from 1984 to 2002. The theatre is currently the home of the musical Wicked, which has played at the venue since 27 September 2006. The theatre was built by architect Lewis and William Edward Trent in 1929 for Provincial Cinematograph Theatres, a part of the Gaumont British chain.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd have completed repairs to the lightning protection system in place at the theatre. This will ensure the system remains fully operational and able to protect the building and all users in the event of an electrical storm.

PTSG is the UK’s leading provider of lightning and surge protection services. Its engineers work all over the UK designing, installing and providing test and inspection and maintenance services for clients in all sectors. The Essex office of PTSG Electrical Services Ltd (trading as JW Gray) is thought to be the oldest trading provider of lightning protection services in the UK, possibly even Europe. It was established in 1835.
