Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is currently at work on a project at RAF Croughton, delivering vital specialist services in a contract with Amey.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd are testing the lightning protection system in place at the Royal Air Force base in Northamptonshire, which is home to the 422nd Air Base Group and operates one of Europe’s largest military switchboards, processing around a third of all U.S. military communications in Europe.

PTSG Electrical Services Ltd is the UK market leader in the installation, testing and maintenance of lightning protection systems and member of the Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS). Its work protects the buildings and users for hundreds of clients from a wide cross section of industry sectors.

PTSG also installs, tests and maintains surge protection systems. A surge, also known as a transient overvoltage, occurs when there is a spike in voltage on power or signal lines. While buildings often withstand a lightning strike, they may suffer huge damage to electrical equipment from the surge afterwards – which can cost tens of thousands of pounds to rectify. PTSG has been protecting against this for many years.
