ExxonMobil is now in the main construction phase of a new low-sulphur diesel facility and this includes earthing installation at the Fawley refinery. Representing an investment of more than £800m, the facility will help to meet Britain’s energy needs today and build the foundations for lower-carbon fuels in the future with addition of a new hydrogen plant.

Increasing low-sulphur diesel production at Fawley by 40 percent should reduce imports into Britain by a quarter while helping to meet demand from sectors including heavy transport, emergency response, agriculture and industry.

The new hydrogen plant builds on over 50 years of experience with hydrogen production onsite and could enable the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as the energy transition evolves.

In December 2023, PTSG Electrical Services Ltd secured a contract to deliver a large-scale earthing installation. Its engineers are continuing their work on site at this major site in Hampshire.

PTSG is the UK’s leading provider of lightning and surge protection systems. The Group also provides power earthing solutions for clients to keep structures and users safe in a wide range of industry sectors.
