Welcome to Inside PTSG.

The call for the FM sector to increase its drive to achieve net zero steadily increases. In May’s Facilities Show, Lord Martin Callahan, UK government minister for energy efficiency and green finance, accepted that the decarbonisation of the UK’s existing commercial buildings was a huge challenge. He stated that retrofitting was going to be key.

He also went on to state that there is a “new green revolution” and that our electricity grid will continue to experience a huge amount of change to “take on much more diversified sources of renewable power; solar, biomass, etc”.

At PTSG, we take our commitment to Environment, Social and Governance extremely seriously and have a strategy in place to make our entire office network and our fleet of vehicles as green and sustainable as they can possibly can be. This involves significant planning and monitoring to ensure that each element within our diverse group is accountable for its individual carbon footprint so that we can work towards net zero as a Group.

In this month’s issue, we feature an in-depth case study on the work of our Water Treatment specialists at Sellafield. Insight takes a close look at electrical inspection and testing, which continues to form a significant part of the work we do as a Group.

We also feature one of the many extraordinary buildings we are privileged to work on, while In the News shows a snapshot of the activity within our different business divisions.

I wish you all the best and look forward to keeping you informed of further updates from throughout the Group.

Best wishes
