Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been working on a significant project to deliver specialist access work at the Tennant’s Brewery in Glasgow.

Tennant’s Brewery at Wellpark has catered for Scotland’s love of beer since 1556, and now produces an around 150 million pints to be enjoyed across Scotland and the world.

It is home to 375 members of staff, from expert brewers at the heart of the business, to tour guides revealing the magic behind the brewery walls. Its skilled taste testers also play an integral part of the story, ensuring that every drop of Tennent’s leaving Wellpark is of the highest standard.

Over the last few months, engineers from PTSG Building Access Specialist Ltd have carried out the systematic piecemeal demolition of the original 34-metre boiler house chimney at Tennent’s Wellpark Brewery in Glasgow.

This precision job includes diverting the existing flue’s gases via temporary flues to allow the boilers to function fully during the demolition process and installation of the new chimney three-core chimney.

Work was done over a weekend to erect the new chimney into the original location where the previous chimney was situated. PTSG used a combination of heavy mobile cranes and rope access.
