Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has been awarded a contract to provide lightning protection services at a new student accommodation scheme in Sheffield.

Hollis Croft is a mixed-use development incorporating student accommodation and commercial units over three sites. The development includes 346 studio apartments, 6 one-bedroom apartments, 3 2-bedroom apartments and 102 cluster flats, providing a total 972 bed spaces.

The scheme will also include commercial space and a new pedestrian link along the western edge of the site connecting Garden Street through to St Vincent’s Church. It is due to be completed in summer 2019.

Engineers from PTSG’s Electrical Services division will attend the site to install a lightning protection system protecting future building users in the event of a lightning strike.

PTSG works on projects at student accommodation sites across the UK, providing a range of testing, repair and maintenance services to keep the buildings safe and compliant for residents and visitors alike. The Group’s outstanding partnership with UNITE Students led to it being awarded the Premises and Facilities Management ‘Partners in SME Organisations’ award in 2015, and it continues to provide a bundled services provision to over 140 of the company’s student properties nationwide.
