Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is to provide electrical services at a historic former fire station in south London.

Southwark Fire Station is a Grade II listed building whose red-brick design was so influential that it became the model for many of the stations built across London in the 1880s. The site on Southwark Bridge Road remained the headquarters for the London Fire Brigade until the 1930s when a new building opened on Albert Embankment.

Consent was given for the site to be redeveloped in 2018, including alterations and extensions to listed buildings for a mixed-use scheme to provide a new secondary school with sixth form, 205 residential units, 234 square metres of commercial or community use, plus parking. Planning is in place at adjoining Grotto Place for the provision of a new sports hall and external multi-use games facility.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will design and install a new lightning protection system at the site, protecting its structural integrity and all who make use of its many different facilities.
