Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is to provide specialist access and safety services at two sites for the NHS.

After a recent inspection carried out by the testing division of PTSG Access & Safety Ltd, the fire escape staircases were found to be unfit for purpose and condemned at both NHS Scawby House and Holme Valley. Both staircases showed heavy corrosion, which in some areas allowed daylight through the structure of the stair stringers and treads.

PTSG’ engineers were tasked by the NHS with removing the old, badly corroded and non-compliant staircases in a timely manner, so as to not disrupt the live function of the buildings too much and replace them with new fully compliant staircases. They will ensure the safety of NHS staff and members of the public.

The work to install a new staircase at NHS Holme Valley was completed in just over a week, including the disposal of the old staircase, craning in the new staircase and full assembly. The speed, efficiency and quality of both installations was a reflection on the vastly competent and experienced PTSG Installation management, site Installation and subcontractor teams involved.
