Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has delivered specialist fire solutions at Water’s Edge Court, a retirement development in Kent – receiving strong praise for its service.

Located in Erith, close to the south bank of the Thames, Water’s edge court offers 65 one- and two-bedroom flats. Residents enjoy regular social activities such as bingo and games night, parties and outings.

The area has long been settled largely because a number of ancient trackways converged on the Thames at this particular point. In the 16th century Henry VIII built a naval dockyard here and in the 19th century it became a fashionable place to visit until the railways arrived bringing increasing suburbinisation.

Engineers from PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd have completed a contract for the maintenance of dry risers at the retirement development. A dry riser is a system of valves and pipe work which enables the fire service to pump water onto upper floors of a building. A wet riser is a system of valves and pipe work which is kept permanently charged with water, generally utilising pumps and tanks.

All buildings which have fire risers must comply with the standard BS9990/2015. A visual inspection must be performed every six months and a wet test every 12 months.

The client in this contract commented on the quality of PTSG’s engineers. For PTSG, delivering a high level of customer service is paramount and the Group enjoys a high contract renewal rate of around 90% as a result.
