Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has completed a project to deliver specialist electrical services, specifically, lightning protection systems at St Mary’s Church in Prittlewell, Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

St Mary’s Church is a Grade I listed parish church in the suburb of Prittlewell. It is the largest and one of the oldest churches in Essex. It was founded in the 7th century as a chapel by the Saxons. From the 12th century until the 17th century, the church was added to. It became the largest church in the county of Essex and one of the oldest churches in the county. The church is also the largest in both Southend and South East Essex.

An engineer from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd attended the site to carry out test of the church’s lightning protection system in Essex. The result was a “pass” and PTSG’s engineer was commended for his excellent service.

Following a test such as this, a certificate is issued which states that a further test should be performed in 11 months’ time. This will determine whether the system remains in first-class operational order or if it requires any remedial work. PTSG’s engineers are highly qualified to carry out remedial work if necessary.
