In the early hours of Tuesday 24th July, firefighters were called to a blaze in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, where the roof of a house had been destroyed in an electrical storm.

Fire ripped through the property during thunder and lightning storms at around 2.30am; by 6am the blaze was put out. Luckily no one was in the house at the time and there were no injuries. The house, however, was severely damaged.

It’s a stark reminder of just how powerful electrical storms can be and for buildings without protection, the consequences can be devastating.
