Premier Technical Services Group PLC’s (PTSG) Electrical Services division has secured a contract to install discrete lightning protection systems to National Trust Berrington Hall.

Situated in Herefordshire, Berrington Hall has been a member of the National Trust organisation since 1957. The National Trust aims to promote the country’s natural and cultural heritage, as well as conserving the historic properties and gardens, countryside and coastlines that it owns. It is the largest membership organisation in the United Kingdom, with 5.1 million members as of 2017.

The work at the Hall had been in planning for almost a year before PTSG’S engineers arrived at the site. The brief required that the lightning protection system must remain discrete and not affect the aesthetic look and feel of the building. This was achieved by the team working closely with the Hall’s estate management team. PTSG’s skilled engineers were able to meet the request of the client and provide and discrete and effective lightning protection system to the historic building.

Lightning protection systems ensure that visitors to the Hall are protected at all times from potential lightning strikes. PTSG has a vast amount of experience of working with the National Trust. The Group has worked on similar projects for the organisation, having previously installed lightning protection systems at National Trust Scotland and fixed wire testing at National Trust Cumbria.
