Our Castleford based electrical testing business specialises in providing portable appliance testing (PAT) and electrical installation testing nationwide through a professional and skilled team.

Role

The purpose of the role is to deliver a quality, on time service to suit the client and our own business needs. This role is an important position within the technical & Operations Department in line with the growth and development, quality, profitability, and customer focus objectives of the business.

  • Work within the Technical and Operations team to deliver business objectives in line with the company business plan.
  • To produce quotations for remedial work from defect information provided on Engineers test reports.
  • To follow up quotations with customers to secure purchase orders
  • To produce reports in digital format using Microsoft products or bespoke business software packages from pre-populate digital reports.
  • To liaise with the field-based operatives through the Planning and Operations teams to establish the quality of information provided and ensure accuracy of quotations
  • Manage all non-conformances through the Planning and Operations Managers to ensure that corrective actions are instigated in all cases
  • Actively participate in team meetings to get correct information flow, future and on-going support & project activities, problems, and opportunities.
  • Monitor your personal KPIs to ensure you meet business objectives on turnaround times, volume, and value of quotations.
  • To carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by management from time to time.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Some technical background, especially in the electrical industry would be hugely beneficial
  • Experience in the service industry with field-based personnel is desirable but not essential
  • Strong IT skills including MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with proven experience of good system and record maintenance
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Professional, customer-focussed manner, helpful and supportive to colleagues
