Role

The purpose of the role is to ensure all customers, but especially key accounts, have a consistently high standard of service delivered.  Ensuring each and every customer contact is a positive experience, and any issues are resolved quickly and successfully for all parties. This requires a clear understanding of the business processes, ensuring customer excellence is central to all activities whilst consistently meeting the required performance standard

  • Administer Key Account contract summaries for designated clients – includes ensuring all information is issued and logged accordingly, submitting paperwork and liaising with Operations Teams to ensure works are completed on time.
  • Building and developing relationships with customers and the PTSG Operations teams – helping to resolve any issues before they reach the customer.
  • Understanding and communicating information on the products offered within the business.
  • Other administration duties, scanning, data inputting etc.

Labour Controller (Manchester)

One of the businesses in our fire solutions division is UK Dry Riser (Maintenance) Ltd., a successful and expanding planned maintenance company, specialising in annual service and commissioning of wet and dry riser systems

Role

The purpose of the role is to work alongside the UK Dry Riser (Maintenance), this role is critical within the Division.  It has a dual focus on ensuring the schedule of work for a group of UK based Engineers achieves the highest levels of customer service and ensures optimum use of engineering resources.

  • Planning all works nationally for a designated service on a rolling weekly basis, liaising with both clients and Engineers.
  • Support Engineers in the field ensuring they have the correct H&S training, job information, equipment, stationary etc. acting as a point of contact for them with the customer and relevant internal departments.
  • Tracking work completion and the return of worksheet from Engineers, supplying full and accurate invoicing information to the Accounts Team.
  • Generating and providing various management reports (KPIs, invoicing, weekly and monthly business updates etc.).
  • Any other ad hoc tasks for the management team that help to maintain service and the division’s commercial / financial commitments.

Lightning Protection Installation Engineer (Manchester)

Our lighting protection business is a market leader and member of the Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS), installing regulation compliant conductor systems to provide the vital protection needed to prevent structural damage to buildings or injury to their users. We provide standard, or bespoke lightning protection across the UK and also, where needed, utilising rope access equipment.

Due to continued growth and investment, we have an opportunity for an experienced lightning protection engineer based out of our large Manchester and London/South East facility.

Role

The role is relatively labour intensive and necessitates working at height.  Having a safety-first mind set is critical to the role.  This is a nationwide role and there will be a periodic requirement to have time away from home, dependent on customer needs.

  • Fulfil client needs for the installations and upgrade of Lightning Protection systems on buildings and structures in line with BSEN 62305.
  • Installing lightning protection and earthing systems on a variety of tall structures such as high-rise offices and flats, church spires and towers, industrial chimneys and power station cooling towers. This will involve working to pre-designed schemes including drawings, using risk assessment and method statements.
  • Working on construction sites where multiple tradespeople are working alongside each other to safely erect access ladders, scaffolding, work platforms and other safety devices.

Labour Controller (Northwich)

One of the businesses in our fire solutions division is Pure Power, who are specialist contractors to the Fire suppression industry. Fire suppression systems extinguish fire by the immediate release of a suppression agent. Each of these systems have a pump room to deliver the suppressant. Pure Power service and maintain the pump rooms, ensuring both power supplies and pumping equipment function as they should when required.

Role

The purpose of the role is to control and co-ordinate operational delivery within Pure Power, ensuring the schedule of work for Engineers achieves the highest levels of customer service and engineer productivity. Involves both forward planning and reactive problem resolution on an ongoing basis, working closely with other departments to ensure the full business cycle from order to cash collection can be completed.

  • Planning all works nationally for Pure Power services on a rolling weekly basis, liaising with both clients and Engineers. In practice, this involves working on both the present week and the following weeks to track progress and ensure the schedules are filled and works are completed on time.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with key contacts to retain existing and new business.
  • Ensuring exemplary service and reporting in line with any specific Service Level Agreements.
  • Supporting the Engineers in the field ensuring they have the correct H&S training, job information, equipment, stationary etc. acting as a point of liaison for them with the customer and relevant internal departments.
  • Assisting with arranging travel and hotel accommodation for Engineers working away from home. This involves raising Purchase Orders and checking expenditure is in line with the budget and the company’s expenses policy.

PTSG Electrical Services Ltd. are part of the Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) group of Companies and due to some exciting projects, we have a requirement for an experienced Business Support based in Castleford, West Yorkshire.

The Electrical Testing Division provide Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and Electrical Installation testing nationwide.

The Role

This is a busy team reporting to the Divisional Director, delivering the business objectives in line with the Company business plan.  You will need to work flexibly, supporting the full team and providing cover for the labour control and admin teams when required.

This important position within the Technical and Operations Department and will produce reports in digital format using both Microsoft and bespoke business soft wear from pre-populated reports

Ensuring that the growth and development meets with our high levels of quality, profitability and customer focus objectives of the business.  The role will also produce quotations for remedial work from defect information on engineers’ test reports, following up on quotations to secure purchase orders.

You will be the primary driver of quality and on time service to mutually suit our clients and business needs.  Liaising with field-based operatives to ensure corrective actions are instigated in all cases

Essential Criteria

You will have a proven track record within a similar role, preferably with a technical background within the electrical industry but not essential.  You will be an excellent communicator at all levels and have an eye for detail and accuracy plus excellent time management and ability to prioritise.

In this role the need for accurate system records and maintenance is essential.  You will also have strong IT skills, particularly in Outlook, Word and Excel.

You will be able to provide examples of your experience in dealing with field based personnel in the service industry, maintaining a professional and customer focussed manner, whilst being supportive of colleagues.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager the role will be to repair and make safe high inaccessible structures with a strong emphasis on health and safety, quality control, value for money and corporate responsibility

You will join our team of busy professional steeplejacks working at height with a safety first mind set.  In this role you will work across both locally and national sites so will need to be prepared to periodically work away from home.

Often working on constructions sites alongside multi-disciplinary trades people, you will need the ability to communicate professionally and clearly with counterparts, which  is critical to ensure the smooth handover of projects.

  • Deliver a variety of working at height projects according to job specifications
  • Follow method statements, risk assessments and site specific safety regulations and comply with strict Company and industry policies and regulations.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) Engineers

Demand for our Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services is high from existing and new PTSG customers, so we are continually looking to expand our national team of Engineers (particularly in London).

The role will require you to safely carry out inspection and testing of electrical equipment and produce results/reports that meet the requirements of the current edition of the IET Code of Practice, clients and external accrediting bodies. 

More specifically you will be required to:

  • Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice
  • Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies
  • Adhere to Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at all times
  • Act with integrity and professionalism in all communications with clients and colleagues
  • Keep abreast of changes and amendments of standards, regulations and best practice within the industry
  • Travel throughout the UK to service client needs

To perform the role you will need:

  • City & Guilds 2377 (preferred but not essential as full training will be given)

Electrical Testing Engineers (Fixed Wire)

Due to continued growth, we would like to hear from qualified Electricians (particularly in the London area) who are interested in joining our skilled and committed team.

You will carry out electrical installation testing in our customer’s properties, producing reports that meet the requirements of BS7671 while maintaining a safe working environment at all times. Our customer base is diverse, so whilst performing the role you will visit some interesting buildings and meet many great customers.

More specifically your responsibilities will be to:

  • Carry out Periodic Inspections of clients electrical installations in accordance with the current edition of BS7671
  • Produce Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies (e.g. NICEIC)
  • Perform other electrical tests and inspections and produce the appropriate industry recognised reports (e.g. Emergency Light testing, Fixed Appliance testing)
  • Carry out electrical rectification / remedial repairs and produce the appropriate documentation in accordance with the current edition of BS7671
  • Adhere to Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at all times
    Represent PTSG, acting with integrity and professionalism in all communications with clients and colleagues
  • Keep abreast of changes and amendments of standards, regulations and best practice within the electrical industry
