PTSG Electrical Services have a vacancy for a part-time Store Person to work from our Witham site.

Job Purpose: To control the materials and equipment delivered to and taken out of a regional Store/Warehouse ensuring stock is available to fulfil client works as required. Evaluating machinery in store and with Engineers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Receiving deliveries – ensuring the correct paper work has been submitted and goods received are correct with regards to quality/quantity
  • Organising stock with the facility (including stock control)
  • Material preparation for jobs to be allocated to the Engineer teams
  • Ensuring that stock is stored in a manner which allows quick access to items regularly used
  • Entering data is correctly entered on to the stock control tracker
  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping within the store, ensuring that the working environment is kept clear of waste on an on-going basis.
  • Keeping machinery in a serviceable condition and logged.
  • Ensuring quarantined items are tested/repaired and reports are registered and logged appropriately.

Person Profile (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Experience):

  • Previous warehouse or store-keeping experience.
  • T skills (for use of a stores management system process)
  • Proactive, collaboration and meticulous approach to work
  • Ability to assess risks in a stores environment
  • Team player
  • Flexible and dynamic approach to all tasks.

Electrician

PTSG Electrical Services – Kidderminster

PTSG Electrical Services have a vacancy for an Electrical Supervisor to work alongside our existing team from our Kidderminster office. PTSG provide Lightning Protection, Electronic Surge Protection, Power Earthing and Specialist Access Services.

The works will involve the Installation, Testing and Certification of Surge Protection Devices associated with Lightning Protection Systems.

Role – Working out of our Kidderminster office

  • Installation of Surge Protection Equipment to Mains Power Boards and Electrical Equipment at clients premises around the England/Wales area.
  • Testing Single/Three Phase Surge Protection Equipment to Electric Boards, CCTV, Fire Panels, BT Systems.
  • Undertake Surveys whilst on site.
  • Developing new leads and opportunities
  • Working to tight schedules

Essential criteria

  • Must have significant amount of recent experience working on industrial electrical installations, including Installation, inspection, testing.
  • Must have obtained an NVQ level 3 in electrical installation work or approved equivalent.
  • Qualified to City and Guilds standard (17th edition) or equivalent
  • Full, valid UK Driving Licence Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Qualified to City and Guilds 2391/2394/5 – (inspection and testing) or equivalent.
  • Good IT and communication skills

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) Engineers

Demand for our Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) services is high from existing and new PTSG customers, so we are continually looking to expand our national team of Engineers (particularly in London).

The role will require you to safely carry out inspection and testing of electrical equipment and produce results/reports that meet the requirements of the current edition of the IET Code of Practice, clients and external accrediting bodies. 

More specifically you will be required to:

  • Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice
  • Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies
  • Adhere to Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at all times
  • Act with integrity and professionalism in all communications with clients and colleagues
  • Keep abreast of changes and amendments of standards, regulations and best practice within the industry
  • Travel throughout the UK to service client needs

To perform the role you will need:

  • City & Guilds 2377 (preferred but not essential as full training will be given)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Relevant computer literacy to enable generation and electronic submission of results
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Flexibility and good personal organisation

Electrical Testing Engineers (Fixed Wire)

Due to continued growth, we would like to hear from qualified Electricians (particularly in the London area) who are interested in joining our skilled and committed team.

You will carry out electrical installation testing in our customer’s properties, producing reports that meet the requirements of BS7671 while maintaining a safe working environment at all times. Our customer base is diverse, so whilst performing the role you will visit some interesting buildings and meet many great customers.

More specifically your responsibilities will be to:

  • Carry out Periodic Inspections of clients electrical installations in accordance with the current edition of BS7671
  • Produce Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies (e.g. NICEIC)
  • Perform other electrical tests and inspections and produce the appropriate industry recognised reports (e.g. Emergency Light testing, Fixed Appliance testing)
  • Carry out electrical rectification / remedial repairs and produce the appropriate documentation in accordance with the current edition of BS7671
  • Adhere to Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures at all times
    Represent PTSG, acting with integrity and professionalism in all communications with clients and colleagues
  • Keep abreast of changes and amendments of standards, regulations and best practice within the electrical industry

We are looking for professional and committed people who have:

  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1&2 or 2330 Levels 2&3 plus NVQ 3
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5
  • City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition
  • Substantial post apprenticeship experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Relevant computer literacy to enable production and electronic submission of reports
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible attitude with strong organisational skills
