Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) welcomes the news that the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) has voted to change its name to the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM). The name change will take effect at the end of the year.
This change is designed to reflect the fact that the institute focuses on more than facilities management, aiming to promote the workplace profession and its contribution to workplace productivity and optimising the built environment.
PTSG is a long-time supporter of BIFM and has sponsored BIFM’s awards programme for several years. The company is particularly proud of this partnership, as BIFM does so much to support the FM sector, an industry it is heavily involved in.
The Group was recently a vocal supporter of the Stoddart review, which was formed by BIFM to look into how workplace environments can drive and improve performance. This report highlights the way the perception of FM is changing, as its role in the successful running of workplaces and other businesses across the world becomes more and more apparent.
