In 2014, we launched MOUSE (Memorable, Outstanding, Unique, Service Experience), a unique customer service-driven initiative. Each month, MOUSE speaks to someone in our team about their life inside and outside of work.

This month we speak to Kevin Walton, Managing Director at Integral Cradles (now part of PTSG Access & Safety), to get an insight into his life inside and outside of work.

At work

I began my career working overseas in Hong Kong and then for Canary Wharf Group building high rise towers. I’ve previously worked on some of London’s most iconic buildings such as the The Gherkin, ‘The Cheesegrater’ Leadenhall Tower, One Hyde Park, Heathrow T2A and The HSBC Tower.

Through my exposure to the industry and large-scale high-profile projects, I realised there was a gap in the market for UK access supply companies, so I started my own business in 2004 which was acquired by PTSG in 2015. We are now the UK market leader in turnover and technical capacity.

Integral Cradles design, manufacture and install permanent façade access equipment for new build and refurbishment projects. My team of highly professional, creative and talented engineers and designers deliver bespoke access solutions on some of the most technically challenging and iconic projects in the UK. The most important part of my job is ensuring the coordination of the team, our Madrid factory and key supply chain so that we exceed the expectations of our clients.

What I really love about the job that I do is creating a team mentality and being part of the team as we succeed together. The challenges that we face are working out the best route to complete a task and then staying focussed to achieve this goal.

Since Integral Cradles was acquired by PTSG we have been able to provide the group with genuine national coverage. What we do hasn’t changed significantly – we’re a proven market leading specialist – although there is more time spent liaising with the other Group functions.

At home

I have a young family, with children age four and six, and am very family orientated, so that is where most of my free time is spent. We live near the south coast, so a game of golf, or on the beach in the sun with my two children, wife and friends for a beer and BBQ (with my phone off!) is the ideal day.
