In 2014, we launched MOUSE (Memorable, Outstanding, Unique, Service Experience), a unique customer service-driven initiative. Each month, MOUSE speaks to someone in our team about their life inside and outside of work.

This month we catch up with Jennifer Weller, our Operations Manager for PTSG Electrical Services.

At work

I joined PTSG in 2013 (when Thor Lightning had recently become part of the PTSG group) as an Operations Assistant. I progressed to the position of Labour Controller in 2014, Assistant Operations Assistant in 2016 and Operations Manager in November 2017 – my current role.

Based in both the Manchester and Stoke Offices, I currently manage five labour controllers, a maintenance manager and over 60 engineers all located nationwide. Whilst I am based primarily at the Stoke Office, I regularly travel to the Manchester office. My main role is to oversee the day to day running of the operations department.

My focus is to make sure that all members of my team are motivated and equipped to be the best they can whilst ensuring that we complete all jobs on time and provide the very highest level of service to all our clients.

Whilst each day can be very challenging as no two days are the same, I find that this is one of the things I love best about my job. I also like the variety and responsibility that my job entails and I find that every day is a school day as I am constantly learning new things.

This year, I was proud to be shortlisted for the PFM Young Leader of the Year and to be a finalist in the Pattenmakers Young Manager of the Year Award.

At home

Outside of work I enjoy socialising with my family and friends and going to the gym. I also have a passion for holidays and love travelling, I try and get as many holidays abroad in each year as I love going to new places and experiencing different cultures. Thailand is so far the best country I have travelled to.
