Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has been awarded a contract to provide essential maintenance work at buildings that are part of the Wm Morrisons Plc chain.

PTSG’s fall arrest experts will carry out planned preventative maintenance at Morrisons’ regional distribution centre in Sittingbourne and also at a city centre supermarket in Norwich.

At both sites, anchor points for safety equipment and mansafes will be inspected and tested.

A mansafe system is used to keep operatives working at height safe by connecting them to the system using appropriate PPE. The system comprises cable, post and fixings that are tested to take the fall of the user. These usually take the form of a fall arrest system or a fall restraint system.

The Sittingbourne distribution centre was originally developed for Morrisons in 2009 and covers 49.8 acres. It is one of six state-of-the-art distribution centres across the UK where thousands of products are unloaded, checked, stored, picked and despatched to get fresh food to Morrisons’ customers as quickly as possible.
