Radioactive terminal safely removed by PTSG to pave way for Canary Wharf demolition

Premier Technical Services Group (PTSG) has completed essential works to allow the demolition of a building in Canary Wharf, London.

The group’s Nottingham-based Electrical Services division answered an unusual request to remove an old radioactive lightning protection terminal at the building, an action which was required in order for demolition to take place.

Liam Riley, Operations Director at PTSG, said: “This was an unusual request for our team, which saw the removal of a very old radioactive lightning protection terminal, the presence of which was an environmental hazard preventing our client from demolishing their building.

“Despite a delay in our cherry picker attending site, the unit was removed from the roof and disposed of safely with the client praising the professionalism of our team.”
